Taoyuan, Taiwan, May 17 (CNA) Vice President Annette Lu made an inspection tour Friday of Chiang Kai-shek International Airport in the northern county of Taoyuan, some 40 kilometers south of Taipei.
Lu was briefed on an expansion project for the airport's second passenger terminal and an aviation industry park development project in the Taoyuan area.
Noting that CKS International Airport is Taiwan's main gateway, Lu said it is necessary to build a "window on Taiwan" at the airport to display Taiwan's special products, folk arts and cultural items.
She further urged the Civil Aeronautics Administration to step up its efforts to attract foreign companies to invest in the Taoyuan area to accelerate the development of the aviation industry park.
