Taipei, April 20 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian arrived at the offshore island of Penghu (the Pescadores) Saturday to attend the celebration activities marking the 100th founding anniversary of Hu Hsi Elementary School.
Chen was warmly welcomed by teachers and students of the school upon his arrival at 9:30 a.m. Speaking at the ceremony, Chen said he was very happy to be invited to attend the celebration activities of Hu Hsi Elementary School's founding anniversary and extended his respect and gratitude to all teachers for their contributions to educating schoolchildren.
Chen and his entourage also viewed a song and dance performance and had their picture taken with the school's teachers and students.
