President Tsai expresses condolences on passing of President Jaroslav Kubera of the Senate of the Czech Republic
In response to the passing of Jaroslav Kubera, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Presidential Office Spokesperson Alex Huang (黃重諺) stated that upon hearing the news, President Tsai Ing-wen immediately instructed Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) to call Czech Economic and Cultural Office Representative Patrick Rumlar to express condolences on behalf of President Tsai and the Taiwanese people.
Spokesperson Huang stated that Senate President Kubera was highly respected in Czech politics, and strongly supported Taiwan-Czech Republic ties over the years. President Tsai believes that his passing is a great loss for the Taiwanese and Czech people, and she was deeply saddened, he said.
