President Tsai wishes Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a speedy recovery following his resignation due to health issues
After Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced his resignation due to health issues on August 28, Presidential Office Spokesperson Xavier Chang (張惇涵) said that President Tsai Ing-wen expressed gratitude for Prime Minister Abe's longstanding support for Taiwan and his contributions to advancing Taiwan-Japan relations. President Tsai sincerely hopes that Prime Minister Abe has a chance to rest and recuperate so that he can recover as soon as possible.
Spokesperson Chang stated that Japan is an important partner for Taiwan, and that Taiwan will continue to strengthen our friendly relations with Japan to promote cooperation in a variety of fields.
