Taipei, March 20 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian said Wednesday that the Republic of China military should be equipped with a comprehensive warfare information management system to better upgrade its overall defensive capability.
Addressing a ceremony marking the 90th founding anniversary of the National Defense Management College, Chen exhorted the school's instructors and students to support the government's policy of making the military "lean and mean", upgrade the college's academic standards, and eventually elevate the operations and efficiency of the nation's defenses.
Chen called for concerted efforts by the college's teaching staff and students to help make the ROC armed forces a knowledge-based one with "a forward vision and professional expertise."
