Taipei, March 1 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian lauded and thanked U.S. President George Bush Friday for his pro-Taiwan statement during his recent trip to Asia.
Receiving a visiting delegation led by Delaware State Governor Ruth Ann Minner at his office, the president reiterated his government's support for Washington's anti-terrorism campaign.
Chen also said he appreciates the support to his country from U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden Jr., a Democrat from Delaware and Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee.
He also admired Minner's efforts to strengthen ties between Delaware and Taiwan.
Minner and her delegation are in Taiwan seeking trade with and investment from the island.
