Vice President Lu Meets with a Delegation from New England States
Taipei, Dec. 5 (CNA) Republic of China Vice President Annette Lu met with a delegation from New England states Wednesday to exchange views on the promotion of substantive relations between Taiwan and the United States.
Lu also explained Taiwan's efforts over the past few decades to improve human rights, democracy, peace, social welfare and scientific and technological developments.
She said the interests of women have been greatly improved, as indicated by the fact that among the 225 legislators elected Dec. 1, 50 are women.
The visitors are from Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.
