San Salvador, May 25 (CNA) Eight of the Republic of China's diplomatic allies in Central America pledged Friday to support the ROC's bid to join international organizations, including the World Trade Organization.
In a communique issued at the end of a summit with the ROC, the leaders of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Panama and Belize promised to support the ROC's bid to enhance its international profile and its efforts to solve disputes through peaceful dialogue and consultation.
Meanwhile, visiting ROC President Chen Shui-bian expressed the ROC's interest in joining the System for Integration of Central America (SICA) as a full member.
