Taipei, March 8 (CNA) Twenty-two female centenarians were invited by Vice President Annette Lu to visit the Presidential Office Thursday, Women's Day.
Accompanied by their families, the 22 centenarians, with an average age of 103, were warmly welcomed upon arrival by Lu, a pioneer of Taiwan's women's movement.
Describing the women as "national treasures," Lu chatted cordially with them, presented each of them with a gift and had a group photo taken to mark the occasion. For most of the women, it was their first tour of the Presidential Office.
