President Tsai extends condolences on passing of former US President George H.W. Bush
After the passing of George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States, Presidential Office Spokesperson Huang Chung-yen (黃重諺) stated that President Tsai Ing-wen was saddened to hear the news and immediately asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey deepest condolences to the United States and to the family of former President Bush on behalf of herself and the people of Taiwan.
Spokesperson Huang said that President Tsai praised former President Bush for his efforts to end the Cold War and promote world peace during his time in office, and stated that the people of Taiwan are deeply grateful for the former president's support of Taiwan.
