President Tsai thanks Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for post-quake assistance
2018-02-10

On February 9, President Tsai Ing-wen sent a letter to Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on behalf of the citizens of Taiwan expressing our gratitude to the people and government of Singapore for their disaster relief assistance following the recent earthquake in Hualien, eastern Taiwan.

In her missive to Prime Minister Lee, President Tsai said that the Singaporean government's rapid provision of relief materials following the earthquake made a difference in our relief operations, provided comfort to the disaster victims, and stands as a testament to the special friendship between Taiwan and Singapore. The president then emphasized that Taiwan cherishes this relationship, and hopes it will continue to flourish for many years to come.
