President Tsai receives congratulations from foreign visitors attending 2019 National Day Celebration
On the morning of October 10 at the Presidential Office Building, President Tsai Ing-wen, accompanied by Vice President Chen Chien-jen and Mrs. Chen, received congratulations from foreign diplomats stationed in Taiwan and special visitors from around the world who came to take part in the 2019 Double Tenth National Day Celebration of the Republic of China.
Among the roughly 180 foreign guests in attendance at the event were: Saint Lucia Prime Minister Allen Chastanet; Guatemala Vice President Jafeth Ernesto Cabrera Franco and Mrs. Cabrera; Paraguayan Vice President Hugo Adalberto Velázquez Moreno and Mrs. Velázquez; Eswatini Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini and Mrs. Dlamini; Belize Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture Patrick Jason Faber; Saint Christopher and Nevis National Assembly Speaker Anthony Michael Perkins and Mrs. Perkins; and Palau Minister of State Faustina Rehuher-Marugg. The distinguished guests proceeded to the Presidential Office at 9:20 a.m. to extend their congratulations. President Tsai and Vice President Chen and Mrs. Chen warmly shook hands with the visitors and thanked everyone for attending. President Tsai was also accompanied by Secretary-General to the President Chen Chu (陳菊) and Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮).
