President Tsai hosts banquet for Palau President Surangel Whipps Jr.

On the evening of March 30, President Tsai Ing-wen hosted a banquet for Palau President Surangel Whipps Jr. and First Lady Valerie Whipps at the Taipei Guest House, where she extended a warm welcome to the members of the Palauan delegation visiting Taiwan.

Prior to the banquet, President Tsai personally greeted President and First Lady Whipps at the Taipei Guest House main entrance before they proceeded together into the venue to take their seats. After the master of ceremonies introduced the attendees, President Tsai started the banquet by inviting those present to join her in a toast to her guests. The attendees went on to enjoy lively conversation and a pleasant evening.

Banquet attendees included Secretary-General to the President David T. Lee (李大維) and Mrs. Lee, National Security Council Secretary-General Wellington Koo (顧立雄), Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Wu (吳釗燮), Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-Chung (陳時中), Minister of the Council of Indigenous Peoples Icyang Parod (夷將‧拔路兒), Deputy Minister of Transportation and Communications Wang Kwo-Tsai (王國材), ROC (Taiwan) Ambassador to Palau Wallace M. G. Chow (周民淦) and Mrs. Chow, US Ambassador to Palau John Hennessey-Niland and Ms. Hennessey-Niland, Palau Senate Vice President Kerai Mariur, Palau House of Delegates Health, Social and Cultural Affairs Committee Chairwoman Vicky Ngiratkakl-Kanai, Palau Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Mason Whipps, and Palau Ambassador to the ROC (Taiwan) Dilmei Louisa Olkeriil.
