Healthy Taiwan Promotion Committee

Origin and Tasks

The state of a nation’s development is reflected in the health of its people. Health is likewise the foundation of a happy society. As we face the global challenges of the post-pandemic era, we must take action to promote healthy living for all, enhance lifelong care, and align Taiwan with sustainable health development around the globe to put our vision of a Healthy Taiwan into practice through national policy. Therefore, at a press conference on June 19, 2024, the president announced the establishment of the Healthy Taiwan Promotion Committee at the Presidential Office. The committee gathers representatives from various sectors to form a communication platform for formulating and advancing health policies in Taiwan.

The Healthy Taiwan Promotion Committee will in principle convene once every three months at the Presidential Office. It will undertake three main tasks: it will serve as a platform for social participation, a bridge for social communication, and an engine for policy effectiveness, through which it aims to foster social consensus and put that into action. In this way, the committee will work to enhance the health of the people of Taiwan, thereby strengthening the nation and encouraging the world to embrace Taiwan.
